BUENA VISTA, Amador County — A road improvement program announced for 2026 covers approximately 2.14 miles of Buena Vista Road, a key route for residents traveling between the county line and Camanche Parkway North.

According to Amador County Transportation and Public Works, the county hired Consolidated Engineering Inc. in May 2026 for resurfacing work. The scope includes removal of existing asphalt in selected areas, repair of damaged sections and placement of a new hot-mix asphalt overlay.

What the county announced

The project runs from the Amador County line to Camanche Parkway North. The department initially anticipated construction beginning during summer 2026. That anticipated start date is not evidence that the entire project has been completed; readers should ask the county for an updated completion notice and any remaining traffic controls.

What drivers should do

Residents using Buena Vista Road should follow posted flaggers, speed restrictions and temporary signs if work is underway. Drivers may also want to check the county’s current projects page before traveling with a trailer or large vehicle.

The county’s project page separately documents an older, approximately half-mile improvement east of Coal Mine Road completed under a different project. Those two road segments should not be confused.
