BUENA VISTA, Amador County — Amador County’s household hazardous-waste program identifies Saturday, November 7, and Saturday, November 21, 2026, as the next collection dates at the Buena Vista Transfer Station.

Collections are listed for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6500 Buena Vista Road, Ione. The county says these events are for eligible household waste from county residents and are not for business waste.

Which materials need special handling?

The county identifies household cleaning products, some automotive fluids, pesticides, paint-related materials, batteries, fluorescent lamps and other designated products among categories requiring proper disposal. Restrictions apply to container sizes, quantities and certain materials; prohibited items must not be brought to the collection site.

Verify before loading a vehicle

The program’s rules specify limits and packaging procedures. Residents should consult the official current collection page or call the Amador County Waste Management Department at 209-223-6429 before transporting chemicals. Do not mix unknown products or leave containers unattended after business hours.

The two special collection dates are not the same as the transfer station’s daily solid-waste operating schedule.
